Floyd E. Roth
Floyd E. Roth, 83, formerly of Mt. Jewett, passed away Monday morning (December 4, 2017) at Sena-Kean Manor.
Born January 21, 1934, in Cecil Twp. in Washington county, he was a son of Elmer H. and Margaret Hoover Roth. On August 24, 1957, at Nebo Chapel in Mt. Jewett, he married E. Jeanette Swanson who preceded him in death on March 28, 2010.
Floyd served with the US Air Force during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church; the American Legion Post 574 and the Mt. Jewett VFW ; the Kane Lodge #566 FandAM and the Shriners.
Prior to his retirement in 1996, he had worked as an electronic engineer for the BandO Railroad, Stackpole Corp. and Kane Magnetics.
Surviving are four sons, Floyd (Paula) Roth of Smethport, James Roth, Stephen (Katy) Roth and Timothy Roth, all of Mt. Jewett; three grandchildren, Melanie (Pat) Murphy of Smethport; Matthew (Jessica) Roth of Mt. Jewett and Jason Roth of Lantz Corners; a great-grandchild, Maddox Floyd Roth of Mt. Jewett; a brother, James (Connie) Roth of Redondo Beach, CA; two sisters, Shirley (Edward) Carlson of Cherry Valley, CA and Maggie (Ronald) Little of Corona, CA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death, besides his wife and parents, by two brothers, Gerald Roth and Robert Roth.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday at Nebo Chapel with the Rev. F. Theodore Benson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery.
